Day 2 - Seaside ORegon to Crescent City CA, 347miles, 558km

We had much better weather today, starting with cool overcast and some mist along the coast and ending in glorious sunshine and warm temperatures. we hit as warm as 27 along the way, but as we were running along the coast most of the way the temp was in the high teens. We did start out early and guess what we found along the way?

Yes that's another logging truck you can see in the mist!  We did manage to get by them and avoid them for the rest of the day.

On the way down we stopped at a few view points to check out the incredible views..

We stopped in Tillamook at the Cheese factory and grabbed a breakfast.. huge omelettes for the guys and a Mini breakfast for Linda

 The Mini breakfast!....
We made several stops to admire  the views along the way.. we could see the ocean changing color and the waves getting larger as we moved South..

We have arrived in Crescent city and headed to a Hawaiian restaurant for dinner....  We are going to keep a blog record of all the different brews we drink along the way.... I'll start a page for that.. so stay tuned as we will update..   Tomorrow we do highway 101 and then highway 1 to Novato Ca

Day 1 - Victoria to Seaside Oregon - 225miles, 362km

A long day for a short distance today, as at this time of the year the CoHo ferry has the first sailing at 10:30am, and we had to be there by 9:00am to make sure we clear customs. Just as I was pulling into the gate to pay, one of the team from work dropped by to say hello and wish me a good trip..Thanks Rene!

The ferry is 1.5 hours and about 1/2 hour to unload, so by the time we actually get on the road it's 12:30.. The weather was cloudy, sunny, dry, drizzly, rainy and a mix of windy weather and wet and dry roads. A lot of traffic this year, so getting behind a few logging trucks slowed us down..

A few shots of the trip..

A ton of construction at the ferry terminal, which is why we were crammed in the parking lot..

some road shots....

Our motel for the night.. pretty nice.. for the price!
T

Spent some time wandering around SeaSide, but all the shops were closed.. so headed for the beach area..

Dinner was at a local seafood place where we enjoyed some Astoria craft beer with fish and chips.. tomorrow comes early..
